each month in the meeting room of the Bourbon Methodist Church at 610 Olive Street.
We usually get there about 9:00 and have refreshments and social time with each other.
The meeting starts promptly at 9:30 with a "short??" business meeting -- the usual stuff, minutes, reports, etc.
Then we show our completed projects and talk about upcoming ideas.
What suggestions do
you have for making the
meetings more interesting and fun for
everyone?

"Quilts for Kids" Project
This project is in its 3rd year for the Guild.
We've been making children's quilts and matching them with a coordinating
stuffed animal. These quilts go primarily to children who have been taken into Foster Care in the Crawford County area in Missouri. So far we have made more than 100 Quilts for Kids.
Very often these quilts and animals are the only items that the children can call their own while they are in Foster Care.
More recently, we have been sharing some of these quilts with newborns at our local Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan Missouri.
PRAYER CARDS FOR SOLDIERS OVERSEAS
A favorite project of the Guild has been making prayer cards for soldiers.
Member Sharon Fann introduced the idea to the club in 2006 and since then we have sent hundreds of prayer cards with soldiers to Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries.
Each quilted card is made to fit in the breast pocket of a soldier's uniform and each card has several pieces of red yarn tied into a knot on the card. Each knot represents a prayer that has been said for the soldier who will carry the card.
